height 160 cm, diameter 200 cm, variable textile, thread, plaster, iron
In a construction of iron, an object is supported or held in place. This object is made of plaster and textile materials we recognize. Each of these objects carries a story of a feeling or a state of being.
My work are like abstract narratives, rooted in reflections on existential life processes, about being, about process and change. The pieces bear visible traces of the transformations from the creation process. The actions behind these transformations can be read as images of states of mind. I think of these transformations as follows: ‘marks and scars are left on us, we are patched together and heal—thus, another layer of existence is added, and new perspectives and ways of understanding life are established.’
In the exhibited work, conditions, the transformation that the piece will undergo, while installed exposed to the elements, in the park surrounding Kirsten Kjær’s Museum, is envisioned as part of the narrative about the transformation that occur, while we live our lives.
