Notes from the Future
The people of the future might say to us:
“Take care of your fellow human beings and the environment. Your time calls for dialogue, mutual respect, and for gentleness.”
Undoubtedly, we’re living in an intense, tumultuous, and complex era. Our environment is under immense pressure, demanding urgent action. While that’s crucial, I’d like to emphasize the significance of interpersonal relationships, prompting a heightened awareness on how we meet and situate the other someone.
My work is grounded in reflections on formation of our lives, in its complexity and multiplicity. It speaks of the interconnectedness and mutual dependence between us and our surroundings. The artworks visually embody these processes and portray, in a nonfigurative and sensory manner, what we carry with us from these experiences.
I notice that when the different ways of understanding and living lives are combined, they perspectivize each other, they enrich and add nuances, and can of cause also challenge us – but in the face of the unfamiliar, thoughts are set in motion, resulting in new understandings and insights.
